The Nature center got a call last week about 5 baby opossums that were orphaned. Some of the babies were beat up with bruises, their eyes were shut but they had a little hair- they were almost at the age their eyes will open. At this age, they would still be in the mother's pouch. They were very cold and VERY dehydrated when we received the babies so unfortunately, 4 of them did not make it through the first night. There is still the one survivor though and it is doing better every day.
There is no guarantee that it will make it any length of time but we are doing our best to keep it as healthy as we can. We will post updates on its story every so often so check back soon.
